Disable USB Connected Screen

So in some previous versions of Droid 1 ROMs (stock, UltimateDroid, Bugless Beast?) I could have sworn that when you connect the Droid to a computer via USB it did NOT show the "USB Connected" screen with the option to mount the SD card. In v0.5 and v0.6 of Bugless Beast this is definitely happening, and it is an annoyance to me. Does anyone know if there is a way to disable this?
Basically at work I dock/undock my phone a lot as I get up/sit down at my desk, so it's annoying that everytime I dock it I have to close the "USB Connected" screen so that I can see the pretty clock dock.

Found a solution that works for me:
Turn USB Debugging on, it's in Settings -> Applications

If that was all it took, no.
My phone frequently loses contact and regains it if I'm using it while plugged in.
The screen would pop up ten times while typing one message.
