i got multiple Update notices too after Recovery Blocked the install.
I ended up doing the Rooted FRG83 upgrade by P3Droid/MagicHat but realized that update ate up 27MBs of system memory. To us Droid1 owners, system memory is a scarcity. Lazy me, I didnt do a backup so I need to try and figure out how to get back to 2.2 w/o losing anything.
Im thinking of going back to FRG01B Stock - Stock upgrade to thru FRG22D->FRG83 and then root from stock. I tried it out on my test phone and FRG83 Rooted fine via MotoCache method and didnt take up any extra system memory at all, or maybe it was just 1MB.
Im sure there's an easier way to do this w some backup apps but Im still new to playing around with my phone to know a fullproof quick method. My titanium backup doesnt seem to be functioning right and MYBackup seems to lose some apps during backup.
I have the rooted stock ROM of android 2.2 and can I use this patch to stop the update that Verizon recently released? This patch they sent out isn't 2.3 since the Motorola droid isn't going to get 2.3 gingerbread.
