Ultimate droid and 2.1 ota?

I'm running ultimate droid 7.8. In my system update section of settings, it shows the 2.1 update there with a button on the bottom to download it. I read in another thread that the ota could keep downloading which drains battery and raises your data usage. However, every time I check it, it doesn't seem to be downloading. My question is, do I just leave everything as is, and will everything be fine? Or should I click download, and let sprecovery block it? I asked this in the other thread and no one got back to me, so I figured it would be better to ask here since it is kind of specific to this rom? Thanks for the help
