Outstanding documentation
I've written technical docs and this is top notch. I followed it step by step with no trouble. On the step where you specify "advanced settings" inside droidswap, you may consider changing it to "advanced preferences" it took me a second to register that's what was actually meant. I'm pretty sure at some point a noob may post "I don't see advanced settings on my version, is it different?" lol

Ahhh good eye! I'll fix that now. Thanks for that.

Please forgive my noob question.
I been flashing Rom's for awhile and Ultimate Droid is by far the best of them all!!
What is the benefits to doing this verse doing the standard SPRecovery method?

I'm still looking for help with an issue with the Droid Swap step.
Everything up that point went perfectly. All screen shots matched, including the cmd stuff.
Once I get to Droid Swap however I get ok, fail, ok, fail, all done!
Any ideas would be immensely appreciated.

All flash media has a read/write life span. so many writes and they start to lose data or go bad. given that a swap file is going to be written to fairly often (at least under normal OS's dunno bout a phone) it will decrease the life of the card.
I'm sure BD will do some testing to try and keep those writes to a low amount. What i'm more interested in is the other post mentioning class6 cards that are a good bit faster for the read/write and how that could effect the performance gain that using droidswap gives.
really cant tell the difference. if you get one its just for bragging rights. lol
Ladies and Gentlemen. BlackDroid is 100% correct. And here is the WHY
Ok, our little old Droids have their own internal memory and then on top of that we have an SD card. Now the question at hand is, WHICH IS FASTER?
Well folks, the answer is..... THE SD CARD!!!!!
The internal memory is limited to the clock speed you have selected. The SD cards read speed is ALWAYS going to be faster than the internal memories write speed even at 1.2Ghz.
SD card read speed using a stock class 2 card thru USB, 8.4 MB per second sustained on large files.
Internal write speed of main memory 3.0 MB per second sustained at 1 GHz.
Guess what its is at 550 MHz? A mere 1.89 MB per second.
SD card write speed using a stock class 2 card thru USB, 2.68 average MB per second sustained on large files. It bounce between 2.75 and 2.50 as it buffers.
Internal read speed of main memory UNKNOWN. But guess what, it writes to the SD card at its max speed at 1Ghz. 2.68 average MB per second.
And that is why, in the end, it really doesn't matter if you have a class 2 or class 6 card.
Facts are a wonderful thing. They can be proven true or false. Opinions on the other-hand aren't facts and generally get argued to death. I wonder which one is more helpful normally?

I had the same issue with mine as well initially but then I decided to format the card and use DroidSwap directly after that. You are formatting your card correct?
If you are and your still having issues do you by chance happen to have another small (like 1 or 2 gig) Micro SD Card around that you could try the procedure on that? If it works on another card what you might do is get a Micro SD Card to SD Card adapter (they are really cheap. Just a few bucks at Best Buy or Walmart) so you can hook it to your computer and do a low level format on it so its completely fresh and has no errors.
My guess is its running into an error on one of the memory blocks causing it to not start the swap partition.

I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your posts. You are always extremely informative and knowledgeable. Thank you for taking the extra time it takes to explain everything. Also kudos on your write ups on overclocking, voltage, and temperature. Most reading for anyone who values their phone.

I am formatting and unfortunately, I don't have another micro sd card floating around. I'll keep messing /shrug but I appreciate the reply!
