Worked like a charm for me using the update.zip method. Tried the metamorph flash twice but it didn't take. Metamorph is really wonky since I upgraded to 2.1

As has been stated a few times in this thread there is an issue for some people in former altell coverage areas. This goes for both rooted and un-rooted phones.

Someone mentioned Verizon adding these numbers previously in this thread, but I had yet to hear about that anywhere else. Your best bet is to contact verizon personally if you were in one of these coverage areas. A personal friend was told that "it was a 3rd party app and out of their control" the first time he spoke with them, however after a second call was told that they are looking into broadening this coverage to all of their users.

After the millions they spent obtaining the rights to this, I think it is safe too assume that even a company with a track record like Verizon will get on this issue asap. However, watch them make me eat my words.

I am using Simply Stunning....

I used the Pull Down Editor....followed instuctions...changed Simply Stunning to Verizon Wireless and it worked like a charm!!!

Just a quick recap for those struggling like I was and save ya some time of going page by page by page....

IF YOU HAD ALLTEL, there may be a direct problem with Verizon, they're working on getting it fixed. You can call them if you want an update.

If you're using ROMs, the banner is most likely the problem, snag pulldown editor and metamorph. You can get PDE free if you do a little googlin.

Run PDE and change the banner to Verizon Wireless and choose to create a MetaMorph theme.

Now run MM and choose existing themes and pulldown editor should be there. Choose it, reboot, and you should be up and running!

Hope this helped, like I said I had to go through a lot of pages trying to find this info so just trying to sum it up for anyone who checks this.

Yeah all you have to do is change the banner and it should work fine.
