1. Yes, works as advertised. I enjoy it for a free #

i just got google voice. if i take off the text feature in my verizon bill will i still be able to send text msgs using google voice or do i need the text package from verizon?

google voice is like visual voicemail. it does not or is not a text service. if you have a droid, then text is bundled with the data anyhow.

Wow that's not what Verizon told me. I pay extra for text

text is not included with data. but from my understanding google voice can send free texts within the program (since its only using data) i've been waiting for about 4 months on my invite lol sorry i couldnt help more

Umm LTLFTCer, i gatta say i disagree with 2/3 things you said... Text messages are NOT included with your data plan. although i wish they were... data is data. and yes, G.V. DOES do text messages.

I JUST send my wife a txt message with G.V. it comes up as a 406# but w/e. and i JUST got off the phone with verizon about lowering my bill. so i KNOW the $30 FORCED data, does not include the extra $10 i pay for txt msging...

May appear as 406 # but that is just a masked #. Your google voice number should show up as local area code if you are set up correctly.

Interesting. Never knew Voice did text, that could change some people, but I thought that accroding to my bill, I got 700 minutes, then unlimited text and data for the extra. Maybe I have a different plan and just assumed? I don't pay "extra" for text?

Just looked at my Voice app on the phone and still don't see text options???
