UD 9.8 Metamorph manual hack

Thanks again to R1 for providing a great theme(that's forced me to hack away until I got this working).

Metamorph apparently has an issue with UD9.8. So I manually applied R1's theme. Here's how.
FIRST AND FOREMOST, BACKUP YOUR PHONE!!!!

1) Unzip the zipped theme file. You'll find a <theme_name>.thm
a. Open the .thm file it contains all the APK files you'll need to work with

2) Copy the appropriate apk file to your SD card, I'll use framework.apk as the example.
a. cp /system/framework/framework-res.apk /sdcard/

3) Mount your droid via USB(or bluetooth)

4) Open framework.apk in winrar(I've only tested this with Winrar)
a. copy the res folder from the theme into framework.apk(copying over the existing folder.

5) Unmount your droid

6) Open terminal emulator
a. su
b. cp /sdcard/framework-res.apk /system/framework

7) Your droid should automatically reboot

8) Repeat per apk file

9) Profit??

is there a free version of winrar or do i have pay to able to do this. i searched and i see some free ones but not sure if its going to help me do this. here is what i found WinRAR archiver, a powerful tool to process RAR and ZIP files

I use the free/trial version. It never actually expires.

Maybe I should've been more specific that for those step(s) involving winrar that you'll be doing those on your PC.

I will do an update.zip for you guys tonight... I'm feeling bad about you not being able to use the theme.... I have moved to cayongen and will have the theme for that one also tonight as an update.zip..

Thanks. If I understand update.zip properly, don't my instructions basically do what an update.zip file does(except manually)?

yes you are correct.... its just easier to reboot and install...

I've read a lot of positive things about your theme, but I can't find any screenshots of it. The thread I saw with all the info says the post was removed so I'm wondering if you have a link to it somewhere I can check out. I updated to UD9.8 and don't like certain theme settings so I'm hoping yours offers what I'm looking for. If it is, I also am happy to donate for your time spent if you have a link for that.
