Is 9.8 ESE81? If so, why?

BD or anyone who knows: I don't see this question answered directly, but I'm gleaning from a few comments that this is ESE81, not ERE27.

Now originally I was chomping at the bit to get ESE81, because I thought it would be more efficient, but after seeing negative comments from BD about ESE81 and the positive comments from BD about ERE27, I was under the impression ERE27 was the way to go.

So now I'm confused - BD, could you let us know your thoughts re the differences between the two? Which do you prefer? Was this release simply to calm those anxiously awaiting ESE81?

i dont think anyone said that 9.8 was ese81 ; the question was asked a few times about whether or not it is a ese81 build
but to answer your question i dont believe it is i was running chevy1's ese81 build when i flashed to ud 9.8 without a wipe it booted but had tons of fc errors. so i would say that ud 9.8 is running the same as 9.0

BD answered this in a PM to another member... cant find the post...

But basically he said that it is not ese81 it is built from the newest code from google so it is newer than ese81.

The post was somewhere in the 9.8 thread.

i just got a pm from blackdroid. he said its the 2.1_r2.1s build. i think it is ese81 just a newer code

From what I can see, it's a mix and match of different source....

hmm that funny becuase i just asked blackdroid via pm is the code in this is newer then ese81 and he confirmed that it was in fact newer. so i think ill take blackdroids direct word which would mean it is not ere27
