Need help with wireless tether .apk

Running black Droid Version 9

downloaded the wireless tether .apk from the link in the second post in Black Droid's thread

I have downloaded and extracted to my desktop.

I copied the the extract to my sd

I run appinstaller, and it cannot locate the .apk

I run Astro and can find the folder on my SD but cannot install it as an app.

What am I doing wrong?

First question - Under Phone Settings > Applications > Unknown Sources (is that box checked)?

yes the unknown sources box is checked

What message are you recieving when you click on the .apk file?
Are you recieving an error message?

I copy all .apk files to the root of my sd card, open Astro. Click on the .apk file and install through the installer like normal.

This is my first time doing this.... when i click on the .apk it gives brows file and open app manager options


i go to open app manager, and then details, and this is what it says

"Could not open/sdcard/wireless_tether_2_0-pre8.apk as APK file"

Didn't it come with UD V9? It did on mine.
