That new honda accord 4 dr hatch (CrossTour) really gets my attention. That probably makes me an old fart but the idea of a car designed specifically for road tripping excites me.

Cause it's a Toyota! Try doing that with an American truck or an American car in general lol. I love Toyotas. My dad has an 01 Toyota Avalon and it's an absolute animal. Never left him on the road it's so dependable that I swear by it. Never cost any money to fix since he got it.Originally Posted by StephenC

The Avalon may be an animal but its ugly as all get out. Maybe if Toyota would put some style in their designs instead of making appliances there'd be something there.
As it stands these days the almighty Japanese quality superiority is a myth. They have the same issues as every other manufacturer.

It has been brought to my attention that I don't meet the requirements to post my dropbox referral link in my signature. Also it's against our forum rules...
So if you're interested, ask me about my Dropbox referral link.
Japanese quality superiority is not a myth. I've been in F150s the same year as my truck, with less miles, and babied probably more than my truck has been, and everything rattles. The dash, door panels, everything. And how about the awesome squeaky Ford suspension? I'm running my stock Toyota/Bilstein shocks, with no squeaks or anything. My dash has no cracks and no rattles (except for when in reverse, but that's because of the MagnaFlows and the low rumble they make in reverse).Originally Posted by jstafford1

Oh, one more thing. My truck is not foreign. It was made right here in the USA.

Almost every Japanese car manufacturer has models made in America.
Also, I have had many Japanese cars and none of them have had any more than regular maintenance. My 240sx was at 170k+ miles on the stock suspension, transmission, engine and clutch. Few 90's American cars could say the same. My first car (Skylark) blew its tranny in 72k miles. My Tracer (aka Mazda 323) was at 200k before the gas tank rotted (salt in the NE). FYI my 240sx is still with the guy I sold it to. 250k+ now. Exhaust and clutch have been replaced.
