    DockControl: Disable multimedia dock app.

    Hi all,

I just realized I'd never posted info for "DockControl" here. DockControl is an *extremely trivial* app which disables the automatic launching of the Motorola "Multimedia Station" alarm clock app.

It's useful for developer-types and others who frequently take their phone in/out of the dock and don't like the Motorola app. If you either don't have a dock, or if you actually like the dock app, it is completely and utterly useless

I wrote this app for myself, so it's not particularly pretty. It doesn't let you choose alternative apps or do any fancy stuff like that.

Search for "DockControl" on the market.

Just installed it and it works. Is this an app that I will need to leave running? If so, any way to have an app have a button to just rename the dockcontrol shortcut / api so I don't need to keep anything running?

The app doesn't really stay running, it just registers itself to be notified of when a dock event occurs. If you're using a task killer, don't worry about excluding it, it will still work.

Any way to code in a feature / option to disable the car dock launcher as well?

I have DockControl installed and what I would expect is that when I plug my Droid into the docking station then nothing would happen. Instead, what I get is the multimedia dock running in my notification area.

Is there a setting or someting that completely suppresses it?
