Here's the way I see what they are trying to do:

They are trying to get everyday users of Android based phones to send them benchmarks and possibly system information so that they can use that information to develop some sort of kernel/JVM or who knows what to make the Android system faster.

The catch? It isn't (the way I read it) going to be released to individual users. Think of Swype and how they sold their product OEM to TMobile.

So basically you can help them but the likelihood that you will ever see the result is slim to none unless you buy whatever phone they get the contract with. It's not likely ever going to be some sort of upgrade to the Android OS.

They are trying to sell their product to OEM manufacturers or services to come preincluded with OEM software.

So...if I am mistaken, correct me please OP.

well these results are important to us: the more we have, the more they are significant .

The speed improvement factor is important because it means something, as opposed to a number representing some kind of index that is just useful when compared with other platforms results.

Here, it the same platform and same code that are compared to each other with or without droidBooster.

I am not sure to see what you mean by "usable system wide"? This product indeed addresses Android platform.

Fair enough. I'll install it after dinner and send the results tonight (phone's charging at the moment). Look forward to seeing if this will be implemented as an actual resource (that's what I meant by 'system wide'). Good luck , shows some promise.

Here are some further info which can hopefully answer some of your questions:

This benchmark has been written in pure Java.
DroidBooster has been applied to a method which computes the image deformation. The result can be seen at the upper part of the screen. At the bottom of the screen is the result for the unchanged java method.

DroidBooster is based on Java compilation to native code and uses the NDK.

Finally, at the end you get the acceleration factor between the unchanged and the "droidBoosted" method.

But will this be available to us in the market (or as a download), or will you be selling this to someone like Tmobile or HTC?
