it looks just like twidroid pro
Sorry, not even close! The differences in the UI and how it functions is dramatic.
I don't mean to insult anyone, just "keeping it real" ...Twidroid's widgets look "juvenile" compared to Touiteur's widgets and there is no comparing the widgets features. Same goes for the main app UI.
I have the advantage of having both on my Phone and trust me Touiteur is so far superior in the look, feel and functions it ain't even funny.. AND Touiteur is still in beta!
The only way I can describe it is Touiteur looks and feels like a professional app and TwiDroid feels more like an amateur app.
Sure they both do basically the same thing and Twidroid currently has more options (pics and videos providers etc) but in how they do the "same things' there is no comparison. Plus as I said Touiteur is still just a beta.
When you get the chance to try it you will understand what I am trying to say.
Ha, Ha, no need to be sorry, that was a small response for me :-)
While I am a beta tester of Touiteur that in no way influences my "touting" of this app. Trust me, there are a lot of apps I have beta tested that I woule never even mention much less "tout". I just like to share apps that I come across (no matter if I am a BT or not) that I feel are such a high quality that I can't help "touting" for others to take a look at. I guess it's like telling your friends about a cool new gadget etc that they should check out.
Anywho, here are a few quick comparos as to why I said Touiteur does not " looks just like twidroid pro".
First off here is a comparo of the widgets.. note that Touiteur always shows your last(10) tweets and scrolls thru them automatically (or manually) and TwiDroid doesn't show anything until you receive new tweets and once you open the app the widget is once again "blank".
I don't even need to mention the visual aspects of the 2 widgets, but that is also a personal choice. I personally get tired of that "goofy" blue TwiDroid staring at me on my home page :-)
Next is a comparo showing the "reply pop-ups" from each widget. Oddly enought I can not seem to send a Tweet with the widget pop-up due to it's odd behavior of asking for "names" with yet another op-up on top of the original (not shown).
Again the "look" is a personal choice but Touiteur appears to have more options and a more modern look.
Next is a comparo of the main app screens. Again Touiteur is something you have to see in person because unlike the "flat" look of TwiDroid it is 3D like. The other visual aspects of different colors for accounts and textures for mentions are obvious. I also like that Touiteur displays more tweets and "resizes" tweets on the screen based on the message size (which can allow for more displayed)
This one shows one of the better features of Touiteur. When you tap a tweet you get a drop down menu. With TwiDroid you get a huge pop-up that blocks the main screen. If you tapped the wrong tweet or decide you want to reply to another you have to use the back arrow, with Touiteur you just tap another tweet since they are still visable on the screen (you can still even scroll the screen).
Anyway I could go on and one, but don't want to do a "huge response" :-)
On a more serious note, I started this thread to discuss this cool new app in hopes for ideas/feedback that some may want to see added to the release. The last thing I want is to turn this thread into a "Twitter Client War". I am sure they all have great features, but I just see a lot of potential with Touiteur and I also know that the Developer is very proactive with improvements and upgrades. Could turn out to be a winner, only time will tell.
