Looking for Med apps
I just ordered a moto droid phone that I will set up and give to my partner. I want to know what medical related apps are out there and where to look. She is a MD in primary care not a Pham. or RN or Student. I am new to this forum and I hope I am posting this correctly.
Thanks

Best thing to do is Google search for "Android medical app"
Then from the phone goto Market and doa search there for "medical"
Goodluck!

Thanks for the replies. The droid is scheduled for arrival Mon or Tues so I am making a list of what to do.

Skyscape has the largest amount of drugs in the market but still pales in comparison to epocrates.
Merck Medicus has the most indepth but only list by generic names. It cannot be downloaded from the market but only from the merck medicus website.
Everything else i have found is crap

I think android medical apps have a long way to go before catching up to Palm or iPhone. I am glad we finally got epocrates, but I keep looking for more and have yet to find the same quality of apps that are available on other platforms.

I've emailed Medscape a few times complaining that iPhone is not the only smartphone in the world anymore. They assured me that they are working on an app for the Droid now.

Lexi-comp is available on android, and it's pretty much anything a doctor could need. It's not in the android market, but you can get the download info at their website. (Drug Information for iPhone, BlackBerry, webOS, Smartphone, & Online)
Unfortunately, you also have to be a doctor to afford it. You can get a free 30-day trial of the complete package at lexi.com, but after that it's $285 a year! (or less for selected databases only)
