Yes you need busybox, as far as I can tell. If you wish to try without busy box, you can try at your own risk and let us know. Try the following:

    Code:
    su
    mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system
    cat /sdcard/Camera.apk > /system/app/Camera.apk
    chmod 644 /system/Camera.apk
    mount - remount,ro -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system
    reboot
Because I'm bored with nothing else to do: lol
This will also give you nandroid to make backups of your entire phone.

    Download the Zip below
Unzip the .apk and Tools Folder to the root of your SDcard
Install the .apk file through Astro or RootExplorer
Open the program DroidRootHelper (you just installed this)

    Click in this order!
    Mount mtdblock4 System read/write
    Rename recovery-from-boot.p
Install and chmod busybox(installs to /system/bin)
Install and chmod flash_image(busybox must be installed first)
    Flash 99.1b recovery (yada yada)
    Unmount System mtdblock4
    sync
    Reboot

I believe you can install only busybox by omitting the flash_image steps, but don't quote me on that.

no it needs to be camera.apk
You download it as camera.zip because you need to access what's inside and plus you can't upload .apk files. So once you're done with the picture rename the camera.zip to camera.apk and use that.

Ok.. This is my next mod after new BB rom, Droidinator theme, Red matrix boot animation, custom dock and then this. Whew. It keeps getting harder and harder to install all the new stuff.

So my question to the OP is, Can you plug in the commands for the backup mentioned on Page 2 into your original script.

Gscrpt light is a great way to automate all these scripts, Cut and paste to notepad, tranfer to sd card and run it. Done

I totally understand with that. I'm gonna give it a go with Pandora. There is an update for it now, and I just changed the widget background to match the Smoked Glass. We'll see how it all works out.

*Actually the installation didn't work. Oh well. lol

So I tried this using ADB Shell, and my camera is lost. I named the file Camera.apk, and did the instructions like this (all written out):

    # su
    su
    # mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/mtd/mtdblock4 /system
    mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/mtd/mtdblock4/system
    #/sdcard/Camera .apk /system/app/Camera.apk
    /sdcard/Camera.apk /system/app/Camera.apk
    /sdcard/Camera.apk: permission denied
    #cat /sdcard Camera apk > system/app/Camera.apk
    cat /sdcard/Camera.apk > system/app/Camera.apk
    #chmod 755 /system/app/Camera.apk
    chmod 755 /system/app/Camera.apk
    #sync
    sync
    #reboot
    reboot

Phone rebooted, and now I have no camera. And, not knowing wtf I'm doing, I didn't make a back-up. Anyone able to give me the original Camera.apk file they may have backed up first? Or know how to fix my wonderful screw-up? Of course, I didn't do a Nandroid back-up of this first... I did one when I rooted the phone, but don't want to re-do my overclocking. Help, anyone? Please?

So, I decided to try updating it without the pictures, and sure enough - it works now. Seems like the picture quality has diminished, but that could be a variety of variables. Anyways, figured it out, and time to do a back-up!
