    Ecsnead, if nobody posts one you can grab one that Mbk or I did and compare it... its basically the same, just a different Apk.... the line we add in is drawable/pulldown(anim) and then just copy the stat sys upload XML from framework-res/Res/drawable.... rename that and paste it into the drawable folder also... open It and rename the PNG references to whatever you wanna name yours and change the durations to whatever(lower= faster)... then add in the exact named pngs to your d-hdpi folder and compile....

    An the layout we use is the status bar tracking.XML.... then check the OP and it shows where to add in that new callout line....

    Froyo drawable xml

    @ecsnead69 & Froyo users.

    Here is the xml that goes in the drawable folder on a Froyo built.
    Uses pulldown.png to animate the status_bar_background.
    status_bar_background_animation.xml zip

    Going to see if I can get animation where the close_on image is.

    Just been looking at other peoples animations and thinking about what you say here. Call me stupid but I have only just realised that Froyo or santiemanuel's edit works differently.
    If I make status_bar_background.png semi transparent and fully opaque pulldown#.png's, then I see the animation behind, instead of infront.
    I made this mock up to show you what I mean.

    status_bar_background.png (smaller than it should be for better illustration).


    pulldown1.png (which was my status_bar_background.png before animating the pulldown).

    Because I don't want any transparency on my pulldown notification area, I have to use editted copies of the original status_bar_backgroung.png renamed as pulldown#.png, but that increases my framework size massively.
    I have an idea for a work-around which I will try while looking into coding the use of status_bar_close_on(.9).png.

    Another thing I noticed was that the first time I pulldown the notification drawer after applying the mod, the animation does not start, just shows the first anim image, closing and re-opening sets it going. Do you think that might be the problem you saw after you managed to compile the status_bar_close_on xml edit?

    i got it working and baked into my rom when i get back from vaca im gonna work on the theme changer i have an idea on how to get it to work so should be good to go in a few days gonna work on the lock screen try to get that working now to

    edit: lockscreen and home button broke. Most likely because I only compiled sytemui and not framework. But wanted to toss that out there to see if I'm the only one or not running 15 images avg 75kb per image

    I had one 18 images (I believe) that worked but its been crazy between driving 400 miles a day and then eyes glued to the PC but the froyo Porter said he has 30+ in his.... we need to test the limits for gb roms tho..... it seems like if you get too heavy, it fc's and removes your statusbar.. even tho that's cool and magical, I doubt anyone would want it.... lol...

    I am wondering if it is size limit moreso than number of files. By that I mean if you go over 3MB for the animation it fails sort of thing. Completely making this number up. I made one which was 22 images (all quite small) and it worked. It was a little choppy at first, but after a loop or two it became smooth.

    I then made one with 19, and it didn't work, I got the vanishing statusbar lol. These files combined for just north of 3MB. I of course could have made an error somewhere, but it would make sense if size would be a limitation.

    this is a size issue and free space issue.
    larger your systemui is, the greater the chance for breakage.
    the system/app free space - more is going to better
    I have a test running 40 images, with the entire apk hitting just shy of 3mb total.
    it's smooth by the 2nd go round on it.

    timings may also play a part in this, how much impact I'm not 100% sure on yet.

    and as always, your phone itself is going to play a role in this. some handle things better than others.

    Cupfull, I had the same issue... so did Mbk... I agree that weight is an issue but we both had a total weight of less than 1mb for SystemUI and it disappeared and fc's.... so with gb it seems like maybe it has a limit to amount rather than weight.... still testing... what rom are you on anyway?

    update = lockscreen animation = still nothing
    understanding layouts and coding a lot better
    path is doable for images, but no animation as of yet.

    Barry, you on pe?... what size is the rom itself? ... Chevy is packed full so this might be the issue.... I need to restore a different rom I think and test it....
