    swapping system icons?

can anybody tell me where to look for the homescreen & app drawer icons? i'm trying to use Destop Visualizer to swap icons & it will swap non-system app icons just fine, but i want to swap all the icons out.

i know where to find the drawable-hdpi folders within the .apk, but don't know which folder holds the icon images for launcher...i may have just answered my own question.

nonetheless, can somebody point me in the right direction?

The icons in the app drawer are located in the app themselves. Data/app or system/app. Hope this helps.

Edit: ninja morph can pull these to your sd/androidthemes folder

Cool thanks. Found them. So to edit the drawable-hdpi folder, do i need to use ninja morph to copy the .apk out of the system/app (or data/app) folder, swap the image, then copy it back in? Root Explorer isn't letting me paste into the drawable folder within the .apk, even though the system folder is set to rw permissions.

This is how I do it. I use 7zip ( 7zip.org ). I download my rom (CM) from this forum. Once its on my pc, hit right click/open archive. I double click my way through system/framework/framework-res.apk /res/drawable-hdpi ( I'm not at my pc, but I believe the path is correct). Once there I keep 7zip's window open then just swap files from pc to 7zip. Hit the back button, click "yes" in the pop up, then reflash the rom ( I actually use an update.zip template, but dont have the link on this pc).

You can use 7zip to exract the drawable-hdpi from a stock rom, if thats what your running. I'll link you the update.zip template when I get home or in the morning, long day so far. It allows you to just flash your changes and not the whole rom. Let me know how it goes. Feel free to bump this thread later, it will help me remember.

@tofasttafuri-For those apps I've used Ninja Morph. Theres a how to video on youtube. If ninja morph doesnt work, check out the link below.

@speedfreeq-Heres the update.zip template. Look in tp76's post #7, theres instructions there. http://www.droidforums.net/forum/hac...nja-morph.html

OUTSTANDING. Thanks so much for your help! This gets me a long way towards Fluxxing out my otherwise NexTangy-themed PEv4.2! I'm going to look into unzipping & swapping icons in the theme update.zip first...

    Your welcome.

Using the template, in a nutshell: Theme something in the drawable-hdpi, back out of 7zip until you see the framework-res.apk. With the template opened with 7zip, place the framework-res.apk in the system/framework folder. Theme an app, place it in system/app. You can add to it or take away from it. If you run into problems, let me know what they are and what you did, I'll try to help.

I dont know how much you know about themeing, but heres some stuff that helped me. https://www.google.com/accounts/Serv...homepage&hl=en & Themers Toolbox - Tools and resources for making themes

    Good luck.
