i tried it as update.zip im on mac so it wasnt update.zip.zip. thanks but i didnt put the custom recovery on. it was a simple thing i was doing i just happened to drag the wrong file. simple mistake but now im left with a huge problem. hopefully they can either fix it or replace it at the verizon store. it was a .png file i messed with and it was named incorrectly. thanks for the help though
If they replace it, because you bricked it after rooting it, and everyone knows we all pay higher prices because of things like, I can see a lot of folks around here being moderately annoyed.
Hmm well that is funny. Why are you in those core files anyway? Make up something like your friend tried out your phone or something lol. I'm looking to get my phone replaced soon too because of the headphone jack.
I was applying the manual update again to flush my phone out but i just put the wrong update.zip which had the corrupt file. My desktop was a mess. Maybe its something they can fix without having to replace my phone. That is what i'm hoping for. Maybe a repair dock to bring it back to fresh out of the box mode? I don't know.
Could anything be done from the bootloader menu?
Bootloader

Battery OK
OK to program

Is it possible to load system files this way? It showed up as Motorola Flash Mode when plugged into Win7. Any ideas? There's just one other person that i know of in the same boat as me.
I bricked my droid by messing with the framework-res.apk file, I knew what I was doing and I knew the risk but my fingers were working slower than my brain and I screwed it up. this was before we had the ability to recover on our own. I took the phone to the verizon store and they re-flashed it no questions asked, you dont have to lie just show them your phone doesn't work. I don't think they care how you broke it.
The thing is, where do you live Jerome? Do you live in an area where everybody's laid back? I know that here I'd go to the store and get pinned with questions
