Really Bizarre Reboot problem

My moto droid 1 has worked perfectly since the day I got it in May. I live in NC, and on Saturday I went down to Florida for the weekend. The moment I stepped off the plane and switched the phone on, it starting rebooting every few minutes. I thought ok, new state let me update the towers, so I did *228 and went thru all that.

No change kept on rebooting. Called VZW and they said lets do a hard reset. Did that and wiped the sucker clean, reformatted the SD card too.

Still no go kept rebooting all weekend. Got back on the plane today, stopped over in Atlanta, turned on the phone and it works fine. Got to Charlotte, turned on the phone and its still just fine.

What in the world could have caused the phone to not work in Florida, and I mean all over South Florida from Ft. Lauderdale to Boca Raton, but its fine in Georgia and NC?

Mabye the heat, was there a big temperature difference?

No wasn't heat, this was happening inside an air-conditioned house and in cars, malls, restaurants, everywhere. In fact its hotter here in NC today than Florida if you can believe that.

Stranger things have happened, there is a possesed Droid thread around here somewhere, mabye your answer is in there, just be glad you don't live in Florida!

Two days now without a single reboot. Very strange. I guess I cant take this phone to Florida.

I live in South Florida, no issues..

But yesterday my phone was restarting left and right for no reason.

I thought it was because of the 2.2 released last week, so I installed the new 2.2 that was just released and everything is working good.

The new 2.2 runs smoother then last weeks as well.

I think the restarts was from an app I installed the last couple days, didn't know witch one tho.

Did you download and travel apps?

Im still running 2.1, so I dont think it was the 2.2 update being redone. It even kept doing this after a complete factory reset. There were no 3rd party apps on the phone.

That is the WEIRDEST thing I've ever heard!! Did you do anything new/unusual to your phone before getting on the plane? Installing new apps, changing settings, etc???

I would ask VZW for a replacement... that's ridiculous! And seems like a serious issue...

I live in Florida btw and have never had an issue like this!! Too weird! FL isn't all that bad and it's def not a droid killing state!! LOL Come back soon!

I have been all over NC, SC, and GA with this phone and it has never done this. I made no changes to the phone before I got on or off the plane. It rebooted the entire time I was in FL. The moment I touched down back in GA the reboots stopped, and have not returned.

Like I said its not apps, I had none. VZW had me do a compete wipe and reset of the phone, its as virgin as the day I bought it.

I will be back to FL, dont worry. My whole family lives there.
