    Possessed digitizer

I'm having an unusual problem with my Droid. Whenever I take it for a walk, by the end of the walk the digitizer is going insane. It seems to improve if I clean the screen. What could be causing this? I keep it in my pants pocket, so it's not exposed to the elements.

By digitizer I am assuming screen. Do you turn off the screen before you put it in your pocket?

Yes, I mean the screen. And yes, the screen is turned off before I put it in my pocket. The issue occurs when I try and use it afterwards.

I have had it do weird things but only when I forgot to put it to sleep. Does it happen other times or only after a pocket pull? (had to say that, sorry)

It's only after a pocket pull, but not all of them. Like I said, the craziness seems to be associated with my exercise walks.

Seems like high humidity + sweaty pocket causes droids to flip out. I now have one doing similar stuff after visiting the fair on a hot day. A 1-2cm patch above the home button stops responding most of the time... It gets progressively worse until I pull the battery. Then it'll be ok for 20 or so minutes, and start again. Sometimes the home button stops working too, sometimes ALL the buttons stop working.
It's never been dropped or overclocked, I had a InvisiSheild on it, and thinking it was causing the problem I took it off... so much for that 20 bucks. I called the big V, 10 days for a refurb unit and they send you a kit to ship yours in with. So I dropped it back to stock/no root 2.2. I low level formatted the SD card... anyone know if they can tell it's been rooted? Seen this before on a droid? I was considering an upgrade to the 2, but it's not that impressive...

I've got a droid and recently got a job working in very hot conditions and sweat constantly. Ever since I started, my phone has been going nuts and I can't use it for most of the day. It seems like there are a thousand fingers trying do something all at the same time. After a long time of drying it works fine but it has made my phone absolutely useless during the week. I've started leaving it in my car to be able to use it when I need to. It sucks bad and I haven't come across anything to help keep my phone dry on the web.

    Exclamation Same crazy problem

I have a Milestone that I bought from Amazon (with no warranty) about a month ago. It was fine the first week, up until the day I received a cover which came in late. It brought a plastic shield for the front of the phone, which can be applied with a bit of soapy water. Something I did applying this thing became the problem because it was right after doing this that the phone started doing crazy things, as if a bunch of fingers were pushing buttons on the phone. Either the soapy water or maybe the pressure I did to it sticking the shield. Who knows, but I was really careful, I didn't think I could damage it in any way. So now it works ok "most of the time" that I'm in the house, but when I go out, when I pull it out of my pocket the screen wont answer, or it would start pushing things by it self. Sometimes I can't even answer a phone call. So annoying I went back to a little crappy samsung I had before buying the Milestone.

Recently I bough from eBay a new screen digitizer that they sell for $35 dollars, from a place in Hong Kong. I am waiting for this anxiously, since it is my only hope right now. Later on we'll see how the results.

    Any other solutions?

I got the same crazy screen action once after getting out of the pool to answer the phone. Some moisture must have gotten around the screen and gave the digitizer fits. I left it out in the sun for 20 minutes and it was fine.

As for the screen protector, my guess is some of that soapy water got in around the edges of the screen, and then the screen protector sealed it in. I would remove the screen protector, wipe down the screen with alcohol and let it sit some place warm and dry (or put it in a bowl of dry rice) and let it dry out.
