    USB Tether Pricing

Okay, so with all this talk of Verizon's Tiered service and them adding caps to there "unlimited data plan" If I were to USB tether with PDAnet or Wifi Tether with Barnacle is that costing me money or using any type of data limit?

Basically, when I usb tether am I racking up the bill without knowing?

If so, is there a free workaround type app?

    No, you have unlimited data.

Unlimited data does NOT cover tethering. That's not to say you'll definitely get charged for it but don't think you are entitled to tether because you have unlimited data.

He did not ask it it was OK or not. Yep it violates the TOS you signed, but there is no "fee" associated with it. Tether at will but at your own risk.

I wasn't answering if it was ok or not. If you get caught there most certainly is a fee with it. Do it at your own risk yes, but if you do happen to get caught expect to pay the fee. I tether once in a while so I am not anti-tether but I also understand if VZW happens to find out I am going to be charged. Your unlimited data has absolutely nothing to do with tethering.

So, if I were to tether for around 12 hours (ride down to Myrtle Beach, sc) would that be pretty noticeable?

Honestly I can't say nor do I think anyone really can why some people get caught and some don't. I know a large number of people in this forum have never been charged so I don't know how VZW cracks down on it. Just know there is a risk involved. I have tethered for a couple days on my comp and didn't hear anything about it.

They will not let you add their tethering service to an original Droid because they took it out of the OTA and said the device does not support tethering. These are your options....

    1. Upgrade to a newer device that they say is capable of tethering and pay for the service.
    2. Use an app and tether it against their TOS.

Either of those 2 are gonna be all you can do.
    Android keeps going, and going.....
