Irritated by hardware issues- should I attempt to exchange?

    Hello everyone,

I am new to this forum, and unfortunately it is my malfunctioning Droid bringing me here. I may be on my 5th or 6th Droid now since November 2009, I'm not sure, I really lost count. This time, the soft keys are starting to no longer function, beginning with the lights no longer working, music cuts in and out/stops playing completely at the slightest movement of the wire (even my Bose headphones) and there is a "shuffle glitch" that appears to be related to this issue where it'll skip songs, play completely different artists, or automagically turn on the party shuffle feature.

In short, this being yet another Droid I have been unsatified with (which is a shame because I love the features), I need some opinions. First of all, am I being nitpicky, given the fact that, yes, it has a very steep retail price, and also it is my main portable media device?

Or am I entitled to march right on back to the Verizon store and demand something better, used or new. Considering that this has been the longest lasting of my Droids (5 months!) and was also a "like new" replacement, I guess I'm not too concerned about the quality of another in the Incredible/X flavor.

You should be able to get a replacement, or atleast a nice new Droid X
Only time I have a problem with music pausing and playing randomly is when I use my cheap Verizon-camewiththedroid-headphones. They all busted, one headspeaker works and they have crap sound quality. I have no problems with my Skullcandy

A spiffy new Droid X would be just dandy! And that's pretty cool that it comes with nifty, albeit crappy, headphones. At least it shows they're trying to sell people on the audio aspect now instead of the capability just "being there" like my Droid seems to be all about. I know media audio quality isn't necessarily Motorola's forte, but what else am I supposed to do with 16 gigs anyway?
