    One Stuck E-mail

I have one e-mail message stuck in my in box. I can tell the phone to delete this message and it says "message deleted" but it is still there. I can not open it it either. I tried rebooting the phone but it was still there. Next tried rebooting and removing the battery but it is still there. It does not show up on my computer e-mail so I presume it has been properly removed from the server. Don't know what else I can do. This is not a BIG problem but certaily is annoying.

I'm not certain this is correct but I seem to remember somebody saying something about removing the sync and then syncing again.

I don't think it will hurt to try.

    Tried That

Tried that but did not work. I also forgot to mention in my original post that if I double tap on this message it locks up the android e-mail and I have to select "Force Close" to get out of it.

    Anyone else have any idea?

Which email client are we talking about? Gmail, the stock email client, something else?

OK, well, I'm not sure what phone you're using, but on the droid the stock email client is COMPLETE GARBAGE.

I suggest that you download K9 and use it instead. Delete the account from the stock email app.

Other problems with stock email app: sends in base 64 unnecessarily so people sometimes see gibberish, stops polling randomly, sometimes sends a copy of a random email to people when you reply to a message (yikes!)

Yikes is right. Thanks for the tip. So far this is the only problem I have had with the stock email - at least that I am aware of. I will check out K9.

I had the same problem with the stock app, as well as some of the other issues that aminaked mentioned... Since I switched to K9, not only have I not had the issues, but it's a lot nicer *and* I get my mail faster
HTC Rezound... Stock for now, with the Tag Home launcher...

    Other options:

    - forward mail to your gmail account

    - at the gmail.com web site, in options, set up gmail to check your 3rd party email account

But I like K9 because it allows each account to have it's own notification sound and light, polling frequency, etc.

Also, k9 allows you to set up "identities" where you can choose your "From" address when sending email. Google does this automatically when replying to an email but you have to set it up online, it doesn't work 100% of the time, and you can't compose a new mail and do it--must be a reply.

Bottom line: get away with having gmail check your 3rd party accounts if you can, but if you need other features (and not everyone does) go with K9. microsoft exchange email users can go with touchdown or wait for android 2.2
