    110 Volt vs 12 Volt Charging

    In the past, Verizon techs have told me that when using a 12 Volt automobile charger, the battery can be damaged if it was charged for more than 1-1/2 hours. Is this different with the Droid? Maybe, thats why the automobile dock does not include a built in charger.

    No. No modern phone will be damaged when charging in any way. Your phone turns off the charge cycle when it is full.

    Any converter with a micro usb connector will be 5 Volts output, no matter what the input voltage.
