Hi guys, I searched the forums but couldn't find this situation so if there is one existing, just drop the link to the thread in there for me.
I had a contact in my phone at one point where i put "*67," before the number to block it on caller id. (Not stalking anyone, I swear!) So on the original contact, i had the phone number listed as "*67,xxx-xxx-xxxx."
So I got a text message from the person whose number I had with the *67 in front of it, and when i tried to send a msg using my contact list, it put the *67 in front of the phone number, and therefore could not send the message.
So ... I removed the *67 from the contact phone number and tried send it again. But when the "To:" number came up, it still had the *67 in the message. So I deleted the contact altogether and re-entered everything without the *67. It still is auto-entering the *67 in the number.
So I completely removed the contact altogether and asked the person to call me so I could store the "From" number. When I tried to add the number to contacts, it came through with the *67 attached (which it would never come through with that attached).
So the only way i can send a message is to manually enter the direct phone number every time i want to send a text. (The only way around this is to keep the thread open all the time, in which case it saves the manual info. But If I exit out of the thread and go back in, it has that [censored] *67 right back in there.)
I have deleted all previous contacts for this person, but even now when I get a txt, it has the *67 in front of it. It's very strange. Anyone seen a similar situation? How can I get rid of it? Thanks!
