How to pull contacts when send a forward

I cant figure out how to use my contact when sending a foward. It gives me a blank TO: field and I tried typing in the name of my contact but it doesnt auto populate the name and number. I was trying to send a message to Valerie but it would only bring up Dan Va .

Does it only find contact with email address ? IDK doesnt make much sense.

    Any idea's

Ok so messing with it further it does the same thing when I try to create a text and and type a persons name... All some of my contact will auto populate but others no matter how I spell it will not
