Picture Contact Icon

Hey everyone,

Sorry if there is already threads about this, I tried searching, but I'm not exactly sure what you would call it.

I was wondering why the Android has it when you set a picture to a contact, when that individual calls you, why is the picture so small? I don't get why they did not make it take up the entire background or something. Something you can actually notice. Anyone have any idea? Someone should create an APP that fixes that, I think it be neat at least.
