What is the sleep process and why would it be using 95% cpu?
Sleep is whenever the screen is off....and that just means that 95% of what was running, was the Sleep process...if you were using the phone all that % would be divided up between everything you were using, it doesn't mean 95% of the battery was used, it means 95% of the power was used to power the sleep process because nothing else was running....
I don't think this is correct. It is showing in OS Monitor app that the load of PID 1586 sleep is 80-95% (changes constantly).
Memory: 16K Threads: 1 Load: 90%
User: root Status: Running
CPU usage on top shows 95%+ and status notification icon is in the red
That doesn't make sense. Why would the sleep process be using 90% cpu while I have the phone on and working with it? When your phone is idle or screen off, the cpu should be close to zero.
Sleep is cycles not used by another process, so anytime the processor is idle, which can easily by 90%+ of the time you are actively using it. If you open up task manager on Windows, you should see System Idle Process normally has most of the CPU usage, and is the same thing.
