Im using the gmail app. I notice whenever I send email, it keeps it in my email threads in my inbox. How do I remove sent emails and only have received in the inbox?

Im using the gmail app. I notice whenever I send email, it keeps it in my email threads in my inbox. How do I remove sent emails and only have received in the inbox?
Do you by chance have it set to cc you on sent messages?

I'm not sure why they would set me as CC automatically......wonder where to check.
