    SMS Crashes & is unuseable

    Moto Droid

    Recently after deleting all of my old text messages, my messaging service froze. Actually looking deeper, it looks like SMS service itself froze. Any app that accesses SMS freezes and force closes... Default messaging, Handcent, SMS to Text, Delete Old Messaging... anything that accesses SMS.

    I've tried clearing caches, soft reboots, hard reboots, changing batteries... eventually had to factory reset two days ago. The factory reset helped, but now it's doing it again. I'd really prefer to not factory reset it again... any suggestions?
