Hey everyone. I just unrooted my Droid Incredible yesterday so now it's stock 2.2 S-ON etc. I followed the instructions here for the unroot.
Now, my phone's battery won't hold a charge. It's weird. I got all the way through the unroot process, but during the initial android setup (learn how to use the keyboard, set up gmail, etc.) it just shut off without any warning. I tried to turn it back on again and it did the same thing before setup was complete (it was still plugged in with the wall charger).
So, I let it charge all night last night and the red light was still blinking when I got up this morning. I tried to turn it on and it still wouldn't get through the initial setup before shutting off.
Today, I was driving quite a bit, so I let it charge using the car charger. The red led finally stopped blinking and eventually turned green. I figured it was just an issue with my wall charger. With it still plugged in to the car charger, I was able to get through the initial setup. I started reinstalling all my apps and it randomly just shut off again... and again. The led had been green, like it had a full charge, but when I unplugged the car charger, it instantly shut off.
It said the battery was completely dead when I tried to turn it back on, and it only stayed on for a few seconds.
I took it home and plugged it into the wall charger again. This time it was able to boot completely. I tried to open a few apps, and most of the force closed. The phone didn't shut itself off, though. So, I turned it off and back on again. Then it started shutting itself off like it had been.
I'm completely baffled. Is this a hardware issue? If so, why the FC's and why does it sometimes not shut itself off? Is this related to the unroot? Is it a virus maybe? I can't find any rhyme or reason to it.
Any help would be very much appreciated!
