droid 2 email problems

hi,
after my gmail account being put on lockdown (because it got hacked) and came back up for the 3rd time i finally changed my password. now when i go to messaging > gmail and try to update, a message pops up and says unable to connect to gmail. at first it said password or username is wrong so i put in my new password, it updated. now its not connecting to gmail, even at full bars! HELP PLEASE!!

Bump,
And now even when I have full bars it says cannot connect. Should I have the imap or pop mail? The pop mail doesent give the message but doesn't download or find any emails. The Imap just says no connection.
