    Droid Randomly Turns Off

I have the first droid and sat it down yesterday hit the power button and nothing happened I didnt turn the phone off just locked the screen, Pressed the power button and nothing happened had to take the battery out in order to get the phone to turn back on, the only apps on the phone was facebook, due to I went to the verizon store for another problem and they reset the phone this is my second droid. Is there anyway I could get a new phone and not the first droid, I've had to many problems with the first droid

I would do a factory hard reset first. Because the problem you described is not normal, but also not terrible rare. I've had my droid since November of 2009 and have had that happen a few (2-3) times during that time. I don't think there is much chance they are going to offer you a different phone (Droid 2, Droid X, etc.) due to needing another replacement. It has happened, but it seems it takes 4-5 replacements first. Also of course if you're near your end of contract, they may offer you an early upgrade, but I would not count on it.

So, try the factory hard reset and see if that doesn't help.

With your Motorola Droid still powered "Off," slide open the keyboard.
Press and hold the "X" button on the keyboard while pressing the "Power/Unlock" button, located next to the 3.5mm headphone jack. Continue holding down the buttons until a yellow triangle "Warning Sign" appears on the screen.
Once the yellow warning sign appears, press the physical "Volume UP" and "Camera" buttons simultaneously until a new menu appears. This may take several attempts before success.
From the new menu that appears on-screen, go down to the "wipe data/factory reset" option using the Directional-Pad next to the keyboard, and press the "Center" button on the D-Pad to confirm.
Scroll down to the "Yes -- delete all user data" and press the "Center" button on the D-Pad once more. That's it! When your Motorola Droid is done wiping all saved applications, information, and settings, your device will be back to the factory settings.
