    Incomming call drops tethered connection

So i currently have the HTC droid incredible through verison. I can tether the phone using PDAnet and easytether to connect to the internet. The only problem that I am having is that when I get any incomming calls or texts the connection drops for the duration of the text or call. Is this an issue with the phone, verison, or the fact that I am using the free versions of PDAnet and easytether? Any advide is appreciated. Thanks

Verizon's CDMA network is incapable of data and voice simultaneously, so naturally, your data connection would be dropped in favor of an incoming call.

sigh, that is what I figured. Thanks. Pisses me off the T-mobile and At&t you are able to have calls and tether at the same time.

Yeah, it sort of sucks, but I cant remember the last time I was unhappy that I couldnt do both at the same time. I'll take the minor inconvenience for a better signal and call quality.

Do you suppose Verizon's "4G" network would allow this?

My thoughts exactly, I've never had the desire to do both at the same time. Ever.

The only time I would is when I was giving some directions who was lost using google maps while on a phone conversation. Couldn't get the browser to open unfortunately hence the issue you mentioned.

this is late, but Verizon's 4G network is, from what I hear, going to be completely internet-based. So phone calls -and data of course- can be used simultaneously. unfortunately the current droids probably won't be compatalbe with the 4G network, the 3G will still be up, but we can't call and use data unless we get llike the Droid 4G or something like that.....

    4G Network

Good to know. I most likely will upgrade to a newer version of the DROID in a year or so as well to take full advantage of that one. Thanks.
