ITC to Investigate HTC Phones After Apple Complaint - PCWorld
Jobs has lost his mind.
OG Droid w/ Pete's GPA16 w/ stock Kernel using auto OC script. (retired)
LG G2X w/ rooted 2.3.3 leak.
It's OK for your Droid to be different. Just be supportive and reassuring and it will do just fine. It's when you or other people point at it or mock it for being different is when its' feelings get hurt. Just show it unconditional love regardless of its' differences and it will in turn reciprocate that love and loyalty.
Now Apple is getting sued by another company over the same thing.
iPad... oh boy...
Moved to proper forum area gentlemen..
Enjoy
HTC is new to the game and doesnt have the money or patents to defend itself, thats why they went after them instead of moto or palm. Suit won't hold up. They are just trying to slow them down, distract them.
Why doesn't Apple get a lot of bad PR with this? There essentially hassling HTC, trying to limit Android phone development. theres absolutely no patent violations here, and if there is those patents should of never been issued. Its one thing to screw your own customers over by blocking flash development on your phone platform, but an entirely different thing to use your 30mil+ in cash to legally harass a legitimate company screwing over smartphone customers in general, just to keep people locked in to itunes/app store so they can monopolize media and news distribution on mobile devices, bringing us back to the 50s when media was controlled, monitored, and profitable.
I don't know a lot about phone hardware, but I know a lot about unethical business practices. One of most important things the internet gave us was free information. If Apple has their way with the iPhone and iPad, and only allowing what Apps or web markup/platforms Apple approves, we risk loosing this and having all our news and media routed through iTunes with $4.99/week subscription fees with Apple taking a 30% cut. I'll have no part in it, which is why I recently purchased a Moto Droid so I actually own my phone and can put whatever I want on it. I don't understand why most other consumers don't realize it, and why Apple's practices are not criticized by the media, but actually praised (maybe because the media has a cut in it, for example the NY Time's subscription fee on the iPad). Who knows but this is ridiculous.
