How to disable battery full dialog on T-Mobile my Touch Q

I use my T-Mobile MyTouch Q (LG-C800) as a GPS for my motorcycle. Obviously to have the screen stay up for GPS apps, it has to be connected to a charge lead.

It's a royal PITA when I'm all gloved up, driving down the highway and that most helpful "Battery fully charged, unplug to save energy" dialog comes up and obscures the map.

How do I disable the "battery full" indicator (ideally only when I'm using a GPS or similar app that wants the screen to stay up, but I don't really mind a complete kill of the indicator - I'm not going to wake up at 4 AM just to unplug the phone anyway!)
