I wasn't even comparing the N1 with the Droid (HTC vs. Motorola); I was talking about tech progression within the same company. Obviously, looking at the cellphone industry, products will rapidly progress when you look at all the phones released by all relevant companies. But such progression from ONE company is discouraging. As an example, game consoles have a roughly 10-year product cycle. Full model changes for cars come roughly every 4 years. The iPhone, iPhone 3G, and iPhone 3GS were released almost exactly one year apart from each other.
But if it's like you say, I suppose it'll be more than 6 months between the Droid and the Motoroi, which is more reasonable.
