as much as i like the look....its a bit late on my part since i just got the droid and i love it so much...o well.ill just wait till newer tech comes along once my contract ends
Man that looks sweet. I'd trade my Droid for one as I do not need/want/use the keybaord at all. I was only 10 months into my contract when I got the Droid so that won't stop me from getting the next best ANDROID 2 phone. But it would have to be better. Maybe the camera on that phone works in low light?
Very sexy lookin phone. I like that it doesn't have the physical keyboard, as I rarely use mine on the Droid. You gotta love an all touchscreen phone! Too bad it's GSM though.
I'm more than a little annoyed that Motorola would release a phone like the Droid, then four months later, release a similar phone that is better in virtually every way.
It's not just jealousy over new hardware; I realize tech products become obsolete very quickly. But four months? Imagine if that was the standard tech cycle. Let's pretend Motorola announces a phone better than the Motoroi in every way, with a release date of July 2010. Does this sound reasonable to you?
I don't need to have the latest hardware to be satisfied. This kind of product progression is normal when looking at the industry as a whole, but from one company?
I'm not even sure why I'm so annoyed... I have no feelings of loyalty toward Motorola whatsoever.
Better, I think that is yet to be seen. People made the same argument about the nexus, though it is a good phone, it doesnt blow the droid away. I thing it will provide a good alternative to the people who want an android phone similar to the droid minus the keyboard. I am not taking anything away from the nexus, its fan base is probably those that prefer the ui of the eris as oppose to the droid.
As i said before i really do not think the motoroi will be available for verizon by spring, more like late fall. i base this on the fact that the nexus with all the hype was released last month, and yet verizon is choosing to wait until march or april to release it on their network.
People ready to break their ankle jumping from phone bandwagon will always be thinking the grass is greener.
if you are not sold on the droid; do like a couple of others on this forum expressed, if you are with in your 30 days cancel. Get a tracfone, do some research, and wait until spring for the release of the new android phones to find a phone that fit you best. But android is hot so companies are going to feed on the craze and release more phones.
That would be like getting pissed at apple or dell for makning a new computer or phone. Innovation is what is going to make them money, and if they fall too far behind then they ca get eaten by the bigger fish in the water or die out completely.
the phone is too thick and looking at the video it seems that my rooted 2.1rom runs alot smoother and faster than the motoroi, which is sad... but I gotta give credit where due, 8mp and hdmi out are nice features to have, not to mention the tv tuner.
i will be able to prolong my phone contract and get a new droid in two weeks.
at first i thought i have to wait for the motoroi but then i thought:
wait, you want it for phoning, internet and email. the motoroi has no faster processor as far as i know.
i think i will not play the waiting game this time.
I'm getting my droid in 9 days, although the HDMI, and 720p is a tantilizing feature, it's not necesary on a phone.
i think the droid will hold it's own for at least the next two years.
plus anything that the motoroi has in the ways of an OS will eventually come to the droid too.
