New to Android in need of help

I just got the Motorola Milestone through Alltel today it comes with Android 2.1 Update 1 anyway I kinda need to know how to tell when it's fully charged cause I plugged it in and all it says is;

Bootloader
2C.6C

Battery OK
OK to Program
Transfer Mode:
USB

Is that even normal? If so when will I know if it's fully charged so I can go through the activation process.

Welcome to the forums.

This is not normal. You can try and pull the battery and then reboot, but also make sure you are not plugged into the computer or a charger while doing so. See what happens then. While the cord is connected to the phone to charge the port it plugs into on the phone should have a little white LED that is lit to indicate the phone is charging.

It's definitely not normal for it to boot into the bootloader. Were you pressing any buttons when you first plugged it in?

You have to find a support forum for your particular phone and then search the methods there. I don't know anything about the HTC Desire.

Mostly it means you get access to the root of the file system ( so you can uninstall bloatware or remove files that you don't want), and you can install apps that require root access like wifi tether and screen shot apps.
