    Need some advice about my Epic

    Well, I'm kind of on the fence about rooting my phone. I don't know much about rooting my phone and I hear that it can void my warranty. I am on Sprints everything data plan and have been waiting for this 2.2 update for AGES!

    To get the update myself, do I have to root my phone?
    Are there risks that I could damage my phone if there is a problem when trying to root? I would rather just wait for the OTA update for 2.2, but I'm discouraged that it will never happen.

    I appreciate any help with this.
