Sending home address over text

Hi, I am trying to send text messages of house address and I want to be able to just select the address from the text message and open it in google maps is there a format to do this? Without copy paste

I haven't seen any thing that will type it for you. You can try using Google Voice Search?

here is an example, i want to meet my friend at a bar so i text him the address of the bar. when he receives it on his droid i want him to be able to just tap the address in the text message and it opens up google maps with the location.

You can do exactly that using Handcent SMS with it Locate plugin. It allows you to send your location and even gps coordinates over text which can be opened up in Google maps. When composing a new message hit the green plus next to the text input field to use it. Hope it works out for you.

Thanks for the help. After couple of hours messing with my phone i solved my own problem. It is a simple format of the way you send the text. if i send 111 N street st city st 91111 the phone will not recognize it as an address but if formatted properly with the proper capitals and comma it works. for example

111N Street Ave City, ST 91111 the phone will recgonize the text as an address. this also works when sending SMTP to SMS. no need for addons. you can also add suite number or apartment numbers.
