Velocity Micro Cruz Tablet

I bought my girlfriend the velocity micro cruz tablet T103 at borders, and I've been playing with it. I had the install of an older version of ADW Launcher (1.1.5) and once I installed that, navigating the home screens got SO much smoother.

It comes with android 2.0 preinstalled. I'm hoping it'll get froyo at some point for her sake but I doubt it.

Does anyone know of development anywhere? I've looked at xda and there's no subforums there....

I had download file .apks on my sd card that I moved to the sdcard for the tablet, and was able to install apps that way.

The only one that won't work is angry birds, which is frustrating my gf, because she wants that game on her tablet lol

For those who are interested, I got youtube working by installing skyfire browser from an apk I had on my sd card.

Skyfire does work quite well on the velocity micro cruz tablet.

Could you list what apps worked for those of us considering the Cruz Tablet?

Bear in mind that this is the TABLET and not the READER

I installed
ADW Launcher v 1.1.5 (haven't tried any newer versions yet)
Jewels (its a jeweled game, and jewels is the name of it)
Skyfire (worked for watching youtube videos)
Mahjong 3d by Magma Mobile works but its very choppy

My gf got mad that I was "playing with it more than her", so I haven't done much else with it yet.

I went ahead and got the Tablet. I have T105 model with 4 & 8 gb sd cards. I have Droid X for phone so I knew this would not be on that level. There is lag, it is not speedy and browsing is lower gear. So far no Market hacks have worked, but side loading has been fine (many 2.2 apps will not work). Wifi has been strong inside of house and battery does look to run with 10-12 hours of usage.

Has anyone else had any luck installing the Pandora app on the Cruz Tablet? I downloaded the apk file and transferred it to my SD card and tried installing it but it keeps saying Not Installed.

What about a zagg invisable shield. They have it for t105 but not t103. Will the t105 work on the t103

Chatted online with someone at Zagg, they said the T105 sheild should fit the T103. If it doesn't fit they said u could send it back. :-) Hope this helps.
