If any of you want to change the About phone section back to FRG22D, you can do so easily with any type of file manager that allows you to access and edit system files (like root explorer). It can also be done with adb. You need to edit the build.prop file. The line you're looking for is "ro.build.display.id=FRG22D - metiCkOne". You can aslo use adb to do this. Below are the commands you need...
Enter the path of your sdk, below is an example of what I would type to do this.
cd c:/android/tools
adb pull /system/build.prop
The file will be placed in your sdk tools folder, so mine would be in c:/android/tools
Hi metiCkOne. Thanks for this tip, I actually found it on the build.prop file before your post. Again, this is not in any way to discredit you for your hard work, I just would like to have the official build number on my phone. Rest assured I will never distribute the file I edited and it is only for my personal use and archiving.
I really do appreciate your work and can't thank you enough for providing us these roms faster than most other developers can deliver. Thank you again and best regards!

Don't worry, I'm not offended.
I probably would have changed it too. You can redistribute this if you want to. It doesn't belong to me. I just modified it a little. The main reason I did it was for people to distribute it if they wanted to and of course for the everyday users to get use of it. It's a good file for pre-devs and devs to play with so they can start modding. Either way I appreciate the concern and respect you have for my wishes. That goes a long way in the community.

Well I did it without wiping anything and it took....says I'm @FRG22b
So I am going to assume (bad word) that I'm there.
But I'm still pretty new at this so you better wait for someone to answer who know what their talking about.

I would wipe, I did wipe. You should pretty much always wipe... LOL. I hope that helps. I say that because we run custom roms so much that files can get left over that don't belong and after awhile it is hard to track down issues if they come up.
P.S. to the person who asked. When using sprecovery you need to rename the file to update.zip. There are detailed instructions at the bottom of the op.

Thanks for the reply. I have never ran any custom ROMS so I dont think I had any junk in my trunk. And I did rename to update.zip and put in root of SD before I went to SPR. Again THANKS for the great work metCKOne.
Considerering that donation when payday comes around.....
One more question ....after the dedoxec instaLL IS IT STILL POSSIBLE to go back and do the odexd one ???

Dumb question... do I have to have SU and Busy Box installed , or does this update illuminate the need for them?
-
I ended up wiping to be on the safe side. I dont like having to re-setup everything (im assuming if you dont wipe you dont have to) but better safe than sorry. Thanks for the update!
