So, at the risk of seeming ridiculous, is there any compelling reason why someone would would want to flash this version? Sure, we're always keeping up with the Joneses, but is there any reason why we'd like to run FRG22D, besides the fact that it reveals Flash 10.1 in the Marketplace?

Ok Newbie here...What's the differance between the Deodexed and the Odexed versions. I'm already rooted @2.2 with busybox and su (not sure which version of su)
So Is the odexed somewhat what the OTA patch would give if not rooted ?

Odexed is coded and signed, one step closer to the way it came from Google/Moto/Verizon... In theory, Odexed is supposed to be faster than Deodexed. Your mileage may vary though...

Deodexed is decoded and unsigned, which allows for adding of themes and other mods.

There may be some better technical definitions, if so feel free

Btw, I've just come up in the Odexed version. Install was perfect, no issues. Things are running nicely.

To over simplify it........
Deodex version will allow you to theme it when compatible themes come out for it. Odex will not allow theme to be applied

Wish I could do that google trick LOL. think of it odexed=stock (no customs themes) deodexed=non stock you can make and or install custom themes so on etc. I'm not a techy but that is the way I look at it. Just do a search on the net odexed vs. deodexed

So what would be the reason for using the Odexed. I'm not running any custom ROMS at this time, but may want to try some in the future. And Therefore should probably install the deodexed...right ?
So the odexed would just get me to FRG22d is what your'e saying....and still be rooted ???
