    Manual Update to 2.1

    I have a VZW droid on 2.0.1 and have followed the steps listed on android central to the letter to manually update to 2.1. The installation keeps aborting.

    assert failed: file_getprop....

    E:Error in /sdcard/update.zip
    (Status 7)
    Installation aborted

    any ideas?

    Did you make sure it was named correctly? Right click the file and check the properties to make sure it isn't update.zip.zip. Mine added the extension so I just named it update

    I have a question... if you manually update, will you get future updates pushed to your phone by Verizon? For example if say 2.2 was released?
