I rooted my phone last week to obtain teather. Barnacle seems to work for it although sometimes it takes a few tries to get it to connect. Now that I am rooted (2.1 Stock w/root), I definately want to overclock and utilize wifi teather through kernel support. So.....being a complete noob, how do I do this?
Firmware version: 2.1
Baseband version: C_01.3E.03P
Kernel version 2.6.29-omap1-g7fa8788

I have Terminal Emulator installed as well as DroidRootHelper-v9.0
I have installed ROM Manager v188.8.131.52, but have not flashed ClockworkMod Recovery.
if you use rom manager, you can choose to install it through rom manager, but i think you'll have to flash clockworkmod first
you can get a kernel here - there are others, but 928 pointed me to these and they seem to work very well with stock roots
I tried the link above for an overclock kernel....renamed and applied the update.zip file. Tried to use setcpu and it won't let me overclock?? I even uninstalled and reinstalled setcpu. Still no luck. Any suggestions?

Is there a chance you could post your SetCPU settings?
I've got 1ghz P3 Low Voltage kernel in there now too and I'd be curious to know what you have everything set at.
