I see their forums are still locked, I may consider changing roms if there are no future updates. Can anyone tell me what is going on with them? Thanks!

Well if you wanna keep in touch he's got his own website too at http://www.ultimatedroid.com/
I hear he's planning on putting out some new stuff, but nothing yet. I currently made the switch from UDv9 to Jrummy 0.7 because its super sweet and because of all the drama here. However, I will surely look out for his upcoming roms as I felt his were the best on my phone for a long time...
I think the term "groupies" is better applied to those that followed BD rather than the Android community as a whole that backed other developers.
Blackdroid put together some fine ROM's and I may try one again in the future, depending on his attitude toward other devs. CyanogenMOD with some smoked glass comes real close to BD's work, and runs very well.
OG Droid retired but serving as a wireless tablet now and then.
Oh god...
Let's not necro this topic again. Dominic if you do a search, you'll find all the information you could never want on BD and what happened.
The short of it that he's gone for good.
As has been suggested, you can go to his website, or try another rom. I switched over from ud to cyanogen and like it a lot better. Ymmv.
Please someone lock this before the flaming starts again.

We won't lock the thread : )
No flaming or bickering though please.
BD is alive and well and is working on some new projects. He has a VERY respected project manager that will be making sure all his work is credited properly.
There should be some very exciting things coming from BD....
Any suggestions for alternate Roms to use? I was gonna use Ultimate Droid but I don't think I will with all this stuff going on...
Something stable with apps2sd (or similar program), at least 270 rotation, and tethering (I'm rooted and I just use an app for this). Overclocking would be nice but is not needed.
