Desktop slow to refresh with 2.1. normal?
Hello,
I am running UD v9 without live wallpapers and nearly every time I hit the home button to go back to the home screen after being in an app it takes 10 - 20 seconds to redraw the icons and widgets. I am currently running helix2 but the same issue comes up with launcher2 and if I remember correctly helix1 and home has the same problem. Is this normal or is my DROID messed up?

i have the same problem and im running cyanogenmod 5.0.4. It is so annoying but i prefer the look and feel of launcher 2 but i just cant stand how slow it is im going to start using the stock home app if there is no fix for this

i did have this problem before but then tried this and it really helped out.
1. Download the app "Spare Parts" from the market
2. Go into it and down at the very bottom you see "Home app in memory" check the box next to it and it will really speed things up when you go back to your desktop

I don't see that option in spare parts. It is as follows:
battery history
battery info
usage stats
window animations
transition animations
fancy input animations
fancy rotation animations
end button behavior
haptic feedback
compatibility mode
wifi sleep policy
activity process management
brightness mode
font size
show compass in maps

The spare parts he is referring to is special modded version in the cyanogen Rom i already have this applied but it still takes really long for the launcher to reload after exiting an app

10-20 seconds? Is that without exaggerating?? Because that's way too long
My complaint about CM 5.0.5 after DM 1.0 was that it took like 2 or 3 seconds to redraw. And that, among a few other speed issues, was why I went back to DM.

For me its more like 8secs average
