BlackDroid does some amazing things. I was running 7.8 and could never get 8.0 to settle in. Kept rebooting, FC lots of things. I tried and tried (kernels, settings etc) but kept going back to 7.8. Then I tried JRummys Remix of Cyano. I loved it, but one of my apps (Pure Cal Widget) which I use all the time kept FC on me. Then I went and got Koush's ROM and installed, and tested my 'required' apps. everything worked. I then mixed in Jrummys scripts and apps and got the Desire theme and applied some of the parts that I liked.
So far I have had one unexpected reboot, and Helix from JRummy FCed once and that is it. everything else is running fine. I will Stick with koush going forward.
I actually do like the fact that BlackDroid installs a ton of s#!t on the ROM but gives you the script to remove it. That way I didn't have to put a base rom on and then go find all the apps I want and install them.
