I have had no major problems at all. Now granted, I just installed it a few days ago, but it's been stable for me. Now I see that pete's using it as well. Keep up the good work koush.

Koush man, I like your ROM, I really do. It's what I'm running now. But SPRecovery has worked for me countless times, and is fully compatible with ALL ROMs.

A lot of my frustration was resolved quite a few revisions ago, but to each their own.

I don't mean to suggest the CW recovery isn't reliable, just that it's not as convenient as SPRecovery.

Edit: Just to be clear, there are many things which CW does better than SPRecovery. Such as not requiring every install be named update.zip. But it's incompatibilities with extant Droid standards are not fun.

I thought I saw on one of these threads away to install koush's rom via sprecovery.

I thought the same too, but recent revisions have made this recovery quite the beast. My gripe about scripted ROM installs don't matter anymore if you have ROM manager, so the only thing missing right now is selective backup/restore of /boot /data etc right from recovery.

Restoring SPRecovery Nandroid backups would be nice as well.

You see, we wouldn't NEED SPRecovery nandroid backups if the major ROM cookers switched over.

SPRecovery ROM backups are in .tar format, which is actually quite handy if you want to modify some stuff manually before a restore, or just want to pull out some specific apks. CW backups are in .img format, and I haven't found a way to manually edit these yet. But they do make restoring backups faster IMO, since there's no decompressing involved like in SPrecovery.

Also, CW recovery is universal and compatible with a lot of Android devices. Which is a step in the right direction, we don't need more people complaining of "lolfragmentation"

And we wouldn't need CW .img backups if just one ROM maker switched over. Not to mention that the inability to edit .img files is quite onerous for a decent minority of us.

Be as it may, if you visit Koush's blog, he did it for a variety of reasons. One being a platform that he can use across other phones as well. As he said, the Droid community are the black sheep using a non standard image, and he needed something that works with set standards across other phones as well. I would not ask him to switch to sprecovery for just the sake of the Droid, when he develops for other phones as well.

So to each their own. I can tell you which recovery has greater developer support though, and its not sprecovery.
